Growing up in the Rockies of Colorado, the sublime mountains quickly
became John Sells inspiration for film and canvas. During his younger
years at Colorado State University (while working on a degree in
Liberal Arts), John strived daily to improve his skills in Black and
White print photography, which he felt was essential, despite the
oncoming move to digital. Soon after, John became an instructor for
the University, specializing in the aformentioned field.
As the 35 mm film format faded, John reluctantly transferred his
passion into the new digital format, commenting, "What a world the
new digital age is!"
John is currently working his second degree at The Art Institute of
Colorado...this time in digital photography. In his free time, John
is most often found shooting everything he can in the Rockies.
